Micro Motors designs, develops and manufactures pneumatic, electric and battery powered rotary drive systems for use in the medical, dental and industrial markets.
Founded in 1971, the company pioneered the first miniature air motors for surgical procedures, later expanding upon that technology to develop a broad base of products for use in dentistry, medical applications and industrial robotics and automation systems for various fields within the industrial sector.
Micro Motors distributes its own line of pneumatic and electric dental handpieces sold under the trademarks "Dynatorq™", "Dynapro™", "Dynalite™", "Dynasurg™", and "Micro Handpiece™", as well as numerous lines of private label drive systems for use in dental, cranial, spinal, arthroscopic and orthopedic surgery. Pro-Dex, Oregon Micro Systems was originally founded in 1980 as Oregon Micro Systems (OMS) and joined the Pro-Dex family in 1995. Motion control has been at the core of the company from the beginning and several advancements in new products have been produced through that time. Pro-Dex OMS is and has been located in Beaverton, Oregon from the beginning and has provided support to other Pro-Dex divisions in the development of electronics and software/firmware for medical devices.
For more than 25 years Pro-Dex OMS has produced superior motion control products including PCI, PC/104, VME bus controls as well as Ethernet and RS232 products. In addition to the standard off the shelf products Pro-Dex OMS produces several custom, advanced motion control products for specific and often unique application, including automation systems for the industrial sector.
